Police confirm release of Niger APC zonal chairman

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the release of the abducted All Progressives Congress, APC, Zone ‘C’ Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi, by his abductors in Bobi area, Mariga Local Government Area of the state.

He was, according to the police, rescued unhurt.

It would be recalled that Bobi was kidnapped last week Saturday on the way to his farm along Ukuru road in Bobi with his driver, who was shot in the leg by the bandits and left to his fate.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, told newsmen in Minna, the state capital, that when the command received information on the incident, a joint security team was mobilized to the area in order to rescue him.

Abiodun explained that through the concerted efforts of the security team, the abducted chairman was released by the abductors yesterday at about 3:30 pm.

” He resurfaced around Igwama forest, Bobi district area of Mariga LGA of the state.The victim was subsequently taken to general hospital, Kontagora for medical attention, while effort to track down the culprits is being intensified, ” Abiodun revealed.

He also said the driver was later rescued and taken to General Hospital, Kontagora, where he is receiving medical treatment.

The PRO further stated that the command under the leadership of CP Monday Bala Kuryas, would ensure that the 136 students of Mallam Salihu Tanko Islamiyya are equally released and rescued unhurt.

He then solicited for more cooperation of Nigerlites by giving useful information to the police towards achieving the desired goal of a more secured environment, while thanking them on the recent achievements recorded in its rescue efforts in the state.
