The governor, who spoke with DAILY POST through his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, said his immediate attention was delivering his electoral promises to his people.

He noted that Nigerians have been calling on Bello to run for the presidency due to his good works in the state.

Bello was said to have confirmed his intention to run for presidency during a chat with journalists in Abuja.

The governor was said to have disclosed his interest in respect to the calls by Nigerian youths, women, and the less-privileged.

However, when DAILY POST approached Onogwu for confirmation, he said: “It is no longer a hidden fact that the people mentioned have been calling on the governor to run for the presidency in 2023.

“Be that as it may, this is not campaign time, Bello is the governor of Kogi State and he is working to deliver his campaign promises to the people of the state.

“People from different works of life have been calling on him to run for president in 2023 based on what they know he would do and based on what they know he has done in the state.

“Kogi under Bello is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, and this is what people are seeing and are calling on Bello to run for the presidency in 2023.

“Be that as it may, the governor will make his intention known to everybody when the time comes.”

Recall that Bello’s presidential campaign posters were recently sighted in some states.

But the governor had said only God would decide if he should run for the presidential office in 2023 or not.
