Following the trending report of a Lebanese man alleged to have been involved in sexual molestation of under-aged girls in Abattoir, Jos (Here)
Tracing most of the girls to their homes as a follow-up. The sexually molested girls in Jos-Abattoir have cried out for help from govt, NGO’s & good citizens to help them learn a trade while schooling.
An 11-year-old who is 5 months pregnant said she has never been to any hospital for antenatal care. She disclosed that she use to go and carry out house chores for the said Lebanese and he pays her N200 or N500 but often forces her to have canal knowledge of her.
Her sister who is also a victim narrated how the man takes advantage of the girls that work for him as house-helps. From what our source deduced from interviewing the minors who are mostly from 15 years below, poverty is the bane of the predicament that befell them.
The girls who are hard-working stated their willingness to engaged themselves in learning hands-on trade so that evil people (like the Lebanese man) will not take advantage of them because they are trying to augment their parent’s efforts in meeting some basic needs.
It was also sad to find out that Four out of the girls interviewed are in primary 3,4 and 5 while some have just completed their secondary education.
