Confed Cup: Ex-Eagles Star Udeze Backs Enyimba To Advance From Tough Group

Former Super Eagles left-back Ifeanyi Udeze has expressed confidence that Enyimba will qualify from their CAF Confederation Cup group.

In Monday’s draw, Enyimba were pitted in Group A with ES Setif (Tunisia), Orlando Pirates (South Africa) and Ahli Benghazi (Libya).

Enyimba edged out another Nigerian club Rivers United 6-5 on aggregate on Sunday to book their place in the group stage of the competition.

And speaking on Brila FM’s Sports Machine on Tuesday, Udeze said:”I’m confident Enyimba will scale through in this group, I don’t know how they will do it but I’m confident they will progress.”

The 2002 FIFA World Cup star added:”Enyimba have experience on the continent and are familiar with their group opponents. So I want to wish them all the best.”

Enyimba will be hoping to become the first Nigerian club to win the Confederation Cup.
