Barcelona progressed to the 2020-21 Copa del Rey final with a dramatic 3-0 victory over Sevilla in their semifinal second leg on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou.
Gerard Pique’s 94th minute header made it 2-0 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate to take the game into extra-time.
And five minutes into extra-time Martin Braithwaite headed what proved to be the winner.
It was no more than Barcelona deserved, after one of their best performances since Ronald Koeman took over last summer.
Ousmane Dembele gave Barcelona the perfect start, starting at centre-forward for the second game running, he fired three shots goalwards in the first ten minutes.
With the score at 1-0 Sevilla were handed a golden opportunity as they were awarded a penalty after substitute Lucas Ocampos was flattened by Oscar Minugeza.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen bounced up and down the line filling the goal and doing his best to intimidate Ocampos, whose record from the spot at Sevilla was 11 out of 11. Ter Stegen got down well to his right and just stopped the kick going under his body.
At the start of injury time Sevilla were reduced to 10 men after Fernando was sent off for pulling back substitute Francisco Trincao on the edge of the area.
